About Forecastle Capital
Forecastle Capital is a private investment firm created with a singular focus: to acquire and steward a strong, established business in the Hampton Roads region. We are not a traditional private equity group — our approach is grounded in operational leadership, long-term thinking, and a deep commitment to the community we call home. While financial return is essential, the purpose of that return matters. Our aim is to build enduring value not only for investors and employees, but also to reinvest in the region that makes that success possible.

Our model is simple and deliberate. We are seeking a single acquisition where we can invest not only capital, but care, capability, and time. Founded by an experienced entrepreneur, Forecastle Capital is committed to growing a business with intention — enhancing its performance, strengthening its foundation, and positioning it for a meaningful future. We expect to hold the business for 6–8 years, during which time we’ll focus on creating lasting value. That value may ultimately be realized through an exit, but never at the expense of integrity, employees, or the community. Growth is the means; impact is the end.
Leadership with Experience and Vision
I’ve built and led businesses before — twice, in fact — and I’ve learned from both the wins and the bruises. That experience taught me what makes a company resilient, what makes a team thrive, and where things fall apart. Now, with hard-earned perspective and a deep sense of purpose, I’m ready to do it again — only this time, bigger.
Owning and leading a business is not just what I do — it’s who I am. It fits me like a well-tailored suit: it moves with me, enhances my life, and feels as natural as breathing. This isn’t a stepping stone; it’s a calling.
Forecastle Capital is the next chapter in a journey that’s always been about more than just business. I believe deeply in the power of enterprise to create value — not only for owners and investors, but for employees, families, and communities. I live in Norfolk, Virginia, and while I’m based here, the company I acquire may not be. In today’s world, strong companies come in many forms — local, distributed, remote — and I’m open to any model where the fundamentals are sound and the people are committed. Whether I’m leading on-site or online, I intend to be fully present, deeply involved, and wholly accountable.
“True leadership is the quiet promise to build on what others have grown — to steward people with care, decisions with discipline, and capital with purpose. It’s not just about where you’re going, but how you carry the responsibility of getting there.”
Investment Criteria
Forecastle Capital is actively seeking to acquire a single, established business with $500,000 to $5 million in annual EBITDA or Seller’s Discretionary Earnings. We are industry-agnostic and flexible on revenue size, but the business must demonstrate consistent performance and a track record of sustainable operations spanning at least a decade. We’re looking for a company with substance — one that serves as a strong foundation for future growth, whether through operational improvement, strategic expansion, or reinvestment over time.
Our geographic focus is centered on the Hampton Roads region of Virginia, where we are based. That said, we are also open to remote or distributed businesses, where proximity is less important than the strength of the operation and the alignment of vision and values.
Profitable
$500K to $5M in EBITDA or SDE
Platform Growth
Potential for organic or inorganic growth
Established
10+ years of sustainable operations
Skilled Labor
Stable, accomplished labor with an identity and pride in their profession
We are especially drawn to businesses with skilled workforces — those that rely on specialized knowledge, technical proficiency, or trade-based expertise. Just as important, we look for teams that take pride in their work and in the company they help build. Conversely, we do not pursue opportunities in food service, hospitality, or sectors that depend heavily on unskilled labor.
In short: we’re looking for a real business, with real people, doing real work — people who show up, care deeply, and take ownership in what they create. We’re ready to invest, operate, and grow it with intention.

Why Hampton Roads
Hampton Roads is more than a place of residence — it’s a region of enduring potential. Anchored by one of the busiest ports on the East Coast, it benefits from a strategic geographic position and a resilient, diversified economy. In addition to its deep military presence, the region is home to major government institutions such as NASA Langley, Jefferson Lab (a U.S. Department of Energy national laboratory), and other federal research and defense installations. These organizations provide economic stability, drive innovation, and support a high concentration of technical and skilled professionals.
The region’s maritime identity runs deep. As home to the Port of Virginia — one of the few deep-draft, ice-free ports on the East Coast — Hampton Roads plays a critical role in domestic and international trade. Its intermodal connections, infrastructure investments, and expansion into offshore wind make it not only a logistical hub, but a forward-looking player in the clean energy economy. The region’s long relationship with the sea continues to evolve, driving innovation in shipbuilding, marine engineering, and renewable infrastructure.
The area also boasts a robust educational infrastructure, including Old Dominion University, Norfolk State University, Hampton University, and several community colleges. These institutions produce a steady pipeline of talent and contribute to a workforce that is both capable and grounded.
For Forecastle Capital, focusing on Hampton Roads isn’t just practical — it’s intentional. By narrowing our geographic focus, we gain sharper insight, deeper relationships, and a stronger sense of accountability to the community we serve. This is a region where meaningful business can be built, grown, and sustained — and where economic success can be reinvested in the place that made it possible.
